OSU: Library Services COVID19: Frequently Asked Questions

Borrowing Materials

How do I renew a book or other item?

Visit library.osu.edu and click "My Account" in the top right corner. If you're on a mobile device, click on the "hamburger" (3 stacked horizontal lines in the left corner). Enter your name and ID number. Your ID number either starts with a 2 or a 5 and it is 9 digits long.

Once logged in, you should see the number of items you have checked out, any fines you have, and other options. Just click on the item and click the checkbox to renew it.

Can I request books from other libraries?

Physical lending is currently suspended through the library and OhioLINK

Can I return books?

At this time, we are not accepting book returns.

Will loans be extended?
Although dates in the catalog will remain the same, all due dates will be pushed back until August 15, 2020.

Are late fees still being charged?
Your fines will be waived if a book is overdue.

Who should I contact if I have additional questions?
Please contact Tauni Graham if you experience any issues or have additional questions regarding borrowed materials.

You can also chat with a librarian or call us at 740-366-9307 if your question wasn't answered above.
