MTC: NUR 2040: Finding Books

Our library uses the Library of Congress system to arrange library materials on the shelves.

Nursing materials would be found in the general call number area of RT but many related areas are scattered through the Q (Science) and R (Medicine) classifications.

R - General Medicine

RA - Public Health

RC -  Internal Medicine

RD - Surgery

RG - Gynecolgy & Obstetrics

RJ - Pediatrics

RK - Dentistry

RM - Pharmacology

RT - Nursing

Search the catalogs using one of these search types:

Enter your search term below to look for books available at Marion.  Remember that Marion books are indicated by the designation MAR.

Many resources are also available as web e-books. These resources are indicated by the designation WEB E-Books.

Some web e-books in the catalog will not be accessible as they are restricted to the listed institution(s).

The Nursing Department has many textbooks and other nursing-related books on Closed Reserve in the library. Most are a 2-hour loan and require a student ID to check out and use.

The catalogs can be used to find, books, journal titles, multi-media, and other electronic materials on your topic. You can use either the University Libraries catalog (our local catalog) or the OhioLINK catalog.

In the local catalog, each library location has a code and the library location code for Marion is MAR and you will see it in the location part of a record.
