We all use Wikipedia. It's a great and convenient resource, especially early on with a topic we don't know much about.
Pros:
• Easily updated & accessed
• Allows for quick transmission of emerging topics
• Community-based
• Free & open
However, there are times when Wikipedia falls short of our needs.
Cons:
• Easily updated (therefore false information can sometimes go up before it's checked and taken down)
• Community-based (therefore not everyone adding to Wikipedia has the appropriate knowledge to do so)
• Speed means that emerging topics aren't covered thoroughly
• Citations rely on those sources staying online forever (so there may be dead links)
