As a student worker, you are a representative of the library and of the Mansfield campus. Therefore, it’s necessary to project a positive image to the patrons we serve. Students should wear clothes appropriate to the type of work they are doing, which can range from physical, e.g. shelving books, to professional, e.g. helping students and faculty locate materials.
- Due to the physical aspect of the job, you are not required to dress in office attire (although you certainly are welcome to do so if you choose). Jeans, skirts, dresses, khakis are all fine as long as they are neat, and you are able to do the physical portion of your job.
- Clothing to avoid: sweat pants, pajamas, short shorts, yoga pants/or tights worn without a long shirt or dress, belly shirts, anything see-through, miniskirts—basically anything sloppy, overly revealing, or tight.
You’ll want to wear presentable clothing in good condition that’s appropriate to the type of work you’ll be doing
