BROMFIELD LIBRARY & INFORMATION COMMONS
The Bromfield Library & Information Commons (the BLIC) seeks to offer quality resources and services tailored to meet the academic needs of the students, faculty, and staff of The Ohio State University at Mansfield and North Central State College.
Upholding the values of the Mansfield Campus community, it is the BLIC’s mission to provide a friendly, welcoming environment that encourages learning and collaboration with open access to information, resources, and technology in an atmosphere that recognizes the value of diversity with a professional and knowledgeable staff dedicated to providing quality service.
The Bromfield Library & Information Commons, located on the first floor of the Conard building, serves students from both North Central State College and The Ohio State University Mansfield regional campus. Our facility recently underwent a major renovation, reopening to students in May of 2014. Some of our major features include group study rooms with large touch screen monitors, all-in-one touch screen PC's, Macs loaded Adobe Creative Suite software, a high tech collaborative learning classroom, comfortable communal seating, and a very busy Keurig machine.
We also still have books in our library, a circulating collection of around 45,000 items. Most of these items are found in the back of the library in our stacks, which also includes oversized books, audiobooks, DVDs, and a small children's collection. In the front of the library we have newer popular fiction items--including DVDs--provided to us courtesy of the Mansfield Richland County Public Library.
We have three full-time staff members: Vanessa Kraps, Head Librarian; Kay Foltz, Library Operations Manager; and Laura Applegate, Library Media Technical Assistant (and student supervisor).
