FAQs

What do I do if the computer system goes down and someone wants to check out?

If Sierra goes down, you will need to do a manual checkout. The manual check out sheets are in the top drawer of the file cabinet next to the circulation desk (where Laura usually sits).  They are in a folder labeled "manual check out" (easy enough, right?)

Fill out the fields completely for each checkout. Patrons will need to have their University ID for this type checkout (we can't accept the driver's license as a form of ID in this situation). If patrons don't have their University ID, offer to hold the materials for them (do a short term hold).

How do students add money to their BUCK IDs for printing?

OSU Students can add money to their student IDs with a credit card or debit card

  • via the BUCKID website ($10 minimum). Funds will be available instantly.
  • by calling the number on the back of the student ID during business hours, 614-292-0400

Can NCSC students print in the library?

Yes, but they must purchase one of our $5 print cards (cash only). NCSC has a new ID system that doesn't work with our copier or the BUCKID system.

You might also want to point out that the computer labs in Fallerius have free printing for NCSC students until SP17

Where is the math lab (AKA Conard Learning Center)?

Down the hallway on the first floor of this building. Starting AU17, it also houses the Writing Center.

Where is the writing center?

The Writing Center is now in the Conard Learning Center (also known as the math lab). However there is still a small center on the first floor of Ovalwood (open from 8-5pm Monday - Friday)

What is the TEAS test manual?

The TEAS test is a test potential nursing students at the North Central State College (and other institutions) must pass in order to begin the program. We have four copies on our course reserve shelf filed under Nursing.

Three of these four copies check out for three days (the forth is a two-hour in library check out). Students can't "renew" these items online from home, but if they call in, we can manually check the item in and check the item back out--as long as there is no one on the waiting list for the item.+
