If you need to look for articles, looking in a library DATABASE is a good place to start. Databases provide access to thousands of article citations and many of them will also include the full article.
Types of articles available include magazines, research, newspapers and opinion.
Databases can be general or geared toward certain subject areas, like business or medicine.
You may want to use more medical subject databases.
There are several useful databases to find articles. From the list at OhioLINK, we suggest the following:
Academic Search Complete
CINAHL with Full-text
Medline with Full-text (EBSCO)
Medline (PubMED)
SPORTDiscus
There may be others that would be helpful, too. You can also choose to change the list of databases to Search by Subject and select Medicine and Health (see the option located at the top of the database list above the alphabet)
If you start at the OhioLINK website and you are on-campus, you will not have to sign-in to be able to search them; you should be able to click on the title. Click on the video link below for instructions on how to log-in.
There are some useful databases, such as Physical Education Index and BIOSIS Previews that would only be accessible in the Marion Campus Library using library computers.
Full-text Physical Therapy periodical titles are available through OhioLINK:
Sometimes an article is not available in our local collection or there is no full-text available.
You can still request the article through an interlibrary loan system called ILLIAD, a service from Ohio State.
You will have to create a free account in the system, but articles are usually delivered to your email in about 7-10 days.
Visit the site to learn more. Library staff can help you set up your account and walk you through the process of requesting an article.
