the BLIC explained!

features of and wayfinding through the BLIC

The BLIC works like most other libraries you may be familiar with. We can help you locate:

  • Books (for scholarly or leisure purposes)
  • Journals (typically scholarly)
  • Academic articles
  • Movies (DVD, possible streaming versions)
  • Websites, forms, news sites, etc.

We also help you to find the best materials for your specific needs. But if we're closed or you want to do some things on your own (like requesting or renewing materials) this guide is for you!

How to look for materials

Step 1: Go to the website.
       https://mansfield.osu.edu/blic/

Step 2: Learn what the different searches do, and when to use them.

Because any library -- no matter how large or small -- has limited space, some rely on sharing their materials with others. The materials we have on our campus are divided by what does and doesn't "circulate."

The first box searches the "stacks" -- the rows of shelving at the back of the library -- and these circulate widely. This means they are available to all of you, and can also be requested by people in other parts of Ohio, as well as outside the state if needed.
